I've come to realize, the hard way, that I've had and still have a lot of healing to do! Self Love is not an overnight thing *insert Percy Sledge song*. It takes time to reach a comfortable level of contentment with self. It's a journey; one of upward toil but one of positive growth. In our journey of Self Love, it is integral that we seek to know ourselves, accept who we are and live freely in our truth.  In seeking to know and embrace our truest selves, a process of self reflection and introspection helps. The trauma; experiences that we go through have fashioned us into the persons that we are today. Our personalities, our self esteem; the way we interact with others, our imposed standards, our expectations are all influenced by the way we see ourselves; by the way we think and feel about ourselves. Water Is Life! Have You been Getting Your Life Lately?

Everyone and their grandmamas know that you need water to survive. Water hydrates us, we use water to cleanse our bodies daily and even our homes and clothing! Yeah, we wash the car, the dog and our grimy faces. I don't need to stress how vital water is to our survival. It is something that we've been hearing all our lives and we "know". Yet still, I was like Alice in wonderland when I gave this water thing, a good thought! There was sooo much I didn't know and understand about our daily water consumption needs!

Yes,we must also drink water in order to survive! (You knew that ;)) But I really didn't know exactly how much I should have, and I felt as if I may not have been the only person wondering the same thing. I've heard everyone (preachers, teachers, doctors et al) say that we need to drink 8 GLASSES of water daily in order to keep hydrated, and for our bodies to function well, but I was puzzled. Should an eight year old Elementary energetic child, drink the same 8 glasses of water as a twenty three year old cyclist/athlete? So I Googled (thank God for Google) and my "research" told me that my water intake will depend on the amount of exercise (phisical activity) that my body gets, coupled with my weight. I found a neat  Human Water Requirement Calculator (Follow the link and give it a try).  I calculated that my body needs 9 glasses of water a day!



I also wondered about the measurements of a glass of water... yes, I Googled again and found that 1 glass of water is equivalent to 8 onces, so it's really easy for me now, to know how much water I need.

❀SOME MORE TIPS❀

❀ You should measure the amt of water that you need daily and place that amount in separate containers (bottles, jugs, etc.) This can also help you to track how the amount of water you drank and still have remaining.

❀ At night I feel thirsty while asleep and will actually wake to drink some water, so I always leave a bottle of water at my bedside.
