Self Love Requires Honesty | #SLS

Image
I've come to realize, the hard way, that I've had and still have a lot of healing to do! Self Love is not an overnight thing *insert Percy Sledge song*. It takes time to reach a comfortable level of contentment with self. It's a journey; one of upward toil but one of positive growth. In our journey of Self Love, it is integral that we seek to know ourselves, accept who we are and live freely in our truth.  In seeking to know and embrace our truest selves, a process of self reflection and introspection helps. The trauma; experiences that we go through have fashioned us into the persons that we are today. Our personalities, our self esteem; the way we interact with others, our imposed standards, our expectations are all influenced by the way we see ourselves; by the way we think and feel about ourselves. It's 'human nature' to first be negative before positive and unappreciative before we see good, so in order to change our thinki...

Skin Care Is A MUST!! :)

Image
Anyone who knows me personally knows that I love taking care of my skin.  Some of my friends may even attest to the smooth and soft appearance of my skin! I really enjoy taking care of my skin and I believe that every woman (and man alike) should make time every day to take care of their skin. Your skin requires 110% of your love and devotion in order to appear and feel the way you want it to... Soft, Smooth, Supple, Energized, Moisturized, Hydrated, Glowing, Full of Life!! Neglecting your skin now can lead to you hating it as you grow older.... :( ❤   Skin Care Starts From Inside -> Out! I cannot stress how much influence what you eat and drink have on the appearance of your skin.  It is important to have a healthy diet in order to have and keep the skin of your dreams... Many skin conditions are influenced by what we eat, like acne and dry skin so it is also important to include those good foods in our diet that help to give us good skin . <<< Check...

My Current Skin Care Routine: Face & Neck (March 2013)

Image
If you know me personally, you'll know that I love and enjoy taking care of my skin. I hate having blemishes and breakouts, but I understand that it's a part of life so I don't let them ruin my day at all. Years of experimenting with many products and trying new, sometimes taboo stuff, has lead me to believe now, that an all natural skin care routine is the way to go. I'm currently in the "Transitioning Stage" because I haven't gotten rid of all my non -natural products yet, and I'm still experimenting/testing different natural treatments to see which is the best for my skin. My Skin Care Routine (Face & Neck) is very, very simple. NIGHT TIME: At night I do follow the basic Oil Cleansing Method (OCM) that has been working for me. (Follow the Link for more info). To further moisturize after the OCM, I apply two drops of the oil blend to my palm and massage my face, and it's off to bed. DAYTIME: Cleanse When I...

Water Is Life! Have You been Getting Your Life Lately?

Image
Get Your Life!!! Everyone and their grandmamas know that you need water to survive. Water hydrates us, we use water to cleanse our bodies daily and even our homes and clothing! Yeah, we wash the car, the dog and our grimy faces. I don't need to stress how vital water is to our survival. It is something that we've been hearing all our lives and we "know". Yet still, I was like Alice in wonderland when I gave this water thing, a good thought! There was sooo much I didn't know and understand about our daily water consumption needs! Yes,we must also drink water in order to survive! (You knew that ;)) But I really didn't know exactly how much I should have, and I felt as if I may not have been the only person wondering the same thing. I've heard everyone (preachers, teachers, doctors et al) say that we need to drink 8 GLASSES of water daily in order to keep hydrated, and for our bodies to function well, but I was puzzled. Should an eight year old Elementary ...

My Current Face Moisturizers: Clean & Clear Morning Glow Moisturizer (March 2013)

Image
Clean & Clear Morning Glow Moisturizer: Oil Free. The 4oz packaging (bottle) states that it moisturizes dry skin and instantly brightens skin. It contains SPF 15.  It also states that "smooth, brighter-looking skin" can be achieved when the product is used.  It won't clog pores. It is Hypoallergenic.  The main purpose of the moisturizer though, is for Sunscreen. Here is a picture of the exact product that I purchased for TT $38.95 at Pennywise Cosmetics. The product is a cream that contains shimmery reflexes (shimmers) that give the "glow" effect.  The product states that it is for dry skin but my skin is normal to oily. I enjoy using this product before a Beauty Balm Cream (BB Cream) or foundation to give me the dewy (soft and lustrous) effect.  It does have a light scent to it. I would recommend this cream for those who don't mind the obvious shimmers on their face and want a moisturizer that contains SPF.  It can be used both during the d...

My Current Face Moisturizers: Pond's Clarant B3 (February 2013)

Image
Pond's Clarant B3: Normal To Oily Skin For many years I have sworn by this face product. I have been using it to moisturize my face during both the day and the night.  It does exactly what it promises. The packaging states that it is a "Dark Spot Correcting Moisturizer". It has indeed, cleared up any marks that was left by untimely blackheads.  It also states that it "Evens Skin Tone in 2 Weeks and "Reduces the appearance of Dark Spots In 4 Weeks". These statements are also true for me. Some people may be worried that skin bleaching/whitening may occur, this is not likely at all. It is Dermatologist Tested, Hypoallergenic and it Won't Clog Pores.  I would recommend that you try a small bottle to determine how much you like it (if it works for you). Here's a pic: I do as the bottle says an apply it to my entire face and neck.  I also apply it as a base for any makeup that I may wear.  It is lightweight and does not leave my face stic...
