Self Love Requires Honesty | #SLS

I've come to realize, the hard way, that I've had and still have a lot of healing to do! Self Love is not an overnight thing *insert Percy Sledge song*. It takes time to reach a comfortable level of contentment with self. It's a journey; one of upward toil but one of positive growth. In our journey of Self Love, it is integral that we seek to know ourselves, accept who we are and live freely in our truth.  In seeking to know and embrace our truest selves, a process of self reflection and introspection helps. The trauma; experiences that we go through have fashioned us into the persons that we are today. Our personalities, our self esteem; the way we interact with others, our imposed standards, our expectations are all influenced by the way we see ourselves; by the way we think and feel about ourselves. It's 'human nature' to first be negative before positive and unappreciative before we see good, so in order to change our thinki...

Skin Care Is A MUST!! :)

Anyone who knows me personally knows that I love taking care of my skin.  Some of my friends may even attest to the smooth and soft appearance of my skin! I really enjoy taking care of my skin and I believe that every woman (and man alike) should make time every day to take care of their skin.

Your skin requires 110% of your love and devotion in order to appear and feel the way you want it to... Soft, Smooth, Supple, Energized, Moisturized, Hydrated, Glowing, Full of Life!! Neglecting your skin now can lead to you hating it as you grow older.... :(

Skin Care Starts From Inside -> Out!

I cannot stress how much influence what you eat and drink have on the appearance of your skin.  It is important to have a healthy diet in order to have and keep the skin of your dreams... Many skin conditions are influenced by what we eat, like acne and dry skin so it is also important to include those good foods in our diet that help to give us good skin. <<< Check out the link :)

We also need to hydrate our skin from the inside out. Drinking lots of water is important. Click here for more benefits of drinking water.

The lifestyle habits that we enjoy can also influence how our skin appears. Smoking and alcohol consumption is bad for our general health and is also bad for our skin. In taking care of your skin, a holistic lifestyle change must be made to your diet.
Always remember, good food loves your skin! 'Good food' does not generally mean good tasting food, so you'll have to be ready to prepare the foods you don't appreciate, to the best taste that you prefer, healthily. The very greasy foods like french fries, foods with refined sugar, can help develop and even prolong 'bad skin' (skin that is acne prone).

 Skin Care: It's Easy!

My skin care routine has been the same for quite some time, the only changes are what I use.  I've set a regime that suits my time and my pocket and it has been very easy to maintain. In taking care of your skin, you need to devise a plan and stick to it! My Basic and Current Routine for my face can be found here.

My face routine is basically, Cleanse, Tone & Moisturize daily. My entire body is also cleansed and moisturized daily to remain supple, smooth and hydrated. On Sundays, Wednesdays and Fridays I treat my face to Homemade Facials and my body to invigorating, exfoliating Body Scrubs that are ever so enjoying and they really work! In my next posts, I'll share with you my recent Homemade Facials that I've been loving.
Here They Are:
**Potato Face Mask
**Mayo-Oat Facial

 Skin Care Can Be Inexpensive

I'm the kind of person who's always in the kitchen cooking up something that's not to eat... I love making concoctions for both my hair and my skin. My skin care  routine, as mentioned above is quite simple. Many things that I have in my kitchen to cook with can be used as a part of my skin care.  The products I purchase to help my skin to remain beautiful do just what is required and are inexpensive.

There are many high-end products in the market that can do wonders for your skin but many are not necessarily needed. Keep your skin healthy and beautiful at your means! I don't mind using expensive products at all... that's what my Beauty Bottle Savings (Post Coming Soon) is for.

 Skin Care Requires Your Time!!

Yes I know I said this before but I just can't stress how much you need to ensure you make time to take care of your skin... Do you take time off to brush you teeth daily? I would hope so!! :)
Then it should be easy as that.

I'll be posting about my Love For Skin Care for the rest of the year as I try to motivate you to take care of your skin. It is my purpose to share with you what I'm up to and to also learn from your feedback.
