I've come to realize, the hard way, that I've had and still have a lot of healing to do! Self Love is not an overnight thing *insert Percy Sledge song*. It takes time to reach a comfortable level of contentment with self. It's a journey; one of upward toil but one of positive growth. In our journey of Self Love, it is integral that we seek to know ourselves, accept who we are and live freely in our truth. In seeking to know and embrace our truest selves, a process of self reflection and introspection helps. The trauma; experiences that we go through have fashioned us into the persons that we are today. Our personalities, our self esteem; the way we interact with others, our imposed standards, our expectations are all influenced by the way we see ourselves; by the way we think and feel about ourselves. It's 'human nature' to first be negative before positive and unappreciative before we see good, so in order to change our thinki...

Hi My Loves!
I've declared the end of December to the end of January a month to focus on refocusing and to prepare for the rest of the year. That's exactly what I was up to and as such I took a short hiatus from Blogging and The CupcakeDelect Podcast!
But I'm back!!! And, as usual, I have so much good content planned for you! Now it's just about execution. This year's word is "Consistency".
For years I've been hesitant to put content out that I'm truly passionate about. I've managed to make excuses, convincing myself that I'm not good enough; that I don't have what it takes. I cook up an internal pressure about not having the right software & equipment, not having the space, not having the support, not having the 'look'. I even imagine all the adverse outcomes of being 100% me on the internet, being hated for my genuinity.
However, after introspection and in my time with God, I've decided to let go of those thoughts that harbour fear and doubt. God has been guiding me towards sharing so that at least one soul can be inspired and many can be reached. He's also let me know that it will take a lot of hard work, dedication, late nights, collaboration, out-of-the-box thinking and most of all, Consistency! Consistency in prayer and consistently creating and publishing content.
I'm up for the challenge!
Today I posted the first video in my #SelfLoveSundays Web Series! I'm stepping forward in faith.
I've struggled with self love and God has revealed so much to me. Working on it has become so much easier. It is my hope that people who have the same feat as I do would use my videos as motivation to work on themselves. The first revelation I had is that a healthy concentration on Self Love prepares us to better love everyone and everything. Be sure to Subscribe to CupcakeDelect on YouTube. You can watch What Self Love Is Not below!
The CupcakeDelect Podcast will also be back with a new episode on the 1st Tuesday of February! Be sure to check it out on your favourite Podcasting sites and apps! You should check it out on Podbean.
Thank you Loves for your on going support!

Since I have naturally kinky-curly hair, I decided to try two products from the Worlds of Curls brand to see how they'll work for me. I purchased both the Curl Activator and the Curly Pudding. These type of products are known to either define curls or stretch them out but after reading many product reviews, I've come to realize that the outcomes are different from person to person given the different hair types, techniques of use and styling. Let's Start with the Curl Activator! Worlds of Curls Curl Activator This products claims to be 3 steps in one; Curl Activator, Conditioner and Oil Sheen. It advertises that it's for extra dry hair. I've had this product for more than a year. I purchased a 32oz container, deciding that I'd try all the possible ways to use this product. On the back of the container, it says: Worlds of Curls Curl Activator (for extra dry hair) is another key step in Our Total Hair Care Maintenance System. Worlds of Curls Acti...
Pond's Clarant B3: Normal To Oily Skin For many years I have sworn by this face product. I have been using it to moisturize my face during both the day and the night. It does exactly what it promises. The packaging states that it is a "Dark Spot Correcting Moisturizer". It has indeed, cleared up any marks that was left by untimely blackheads. It also states that it "Evens Skin Tone in 2 Weeks and "Reduces the appearance of Dark Spots In 4 Weeks". These statements are also true for me. Some people may be worried that skin bleaching/whitening may occur, this is not likely at all. It is Dermatologist Tested, Hypoallergenic and it Won't Clog Pores. I would recommend that you try a small bottle to determine how much you like it (if it works for you). Here's a pic: I do as the bottle says an apply it to my entire face and neck. I also apply it as a base for any makeup that I may wear. It is lightweight and does not leave my face stic...
We have so much to be thankful for! Yes, "WE". You do, and I do! If you are alive and reading this, God has blessed you in a mighty way. Your being alive is a testimony to His power to protect, provide and keep His promises. It also means that He has given you additional time to live out His purpose in your life. All this is up to you because He has blessed you with the wonderful gift of choice. It's up to you to choose love over hate, to choose positivism over negativity and to choose faith over fear. It's really not an easy road. While we are choosing, we have the enemy to contend with. It's important that we remember that we can't overcome his obstacles alone. God is with us every step of the way, with stretched out hands. Every decision for Him is an acceptance of His hand. The enemy's job is to drive a wedge between us and God and he's had years of studying us, under his belt. To keep the connection between us and God tight, we have to be devot...
