I've come to realize, the hard way, that I've had and still have a lot of healing to do! Self Love is not an overnight thing *insert Percy Sledge song*. It takes time to reach a comfortable level of contentment with self. It's a journey; one of upward toil but one of positive growth. In our journey of Self Love, it is integral that we seek to know ourselves, accept who we are and live freely in our truth. In seeking to know and embrace our truest selves, a process of self reflection and introspection helps. The trauma; experiences that we go through have fashioned us into the persons that we are today. Our personalities, our self esteem; the way we interact with others, our imposed standards, our expectations are all influenced by the way we see ourselves; by the way we think and feel about ourselves. It's 'human nature' to first be negative before positive and unappreciative before we see good, so in order to change our thinki...

It feels like forever since I’ve posted. The last blogging season of my life ended in 2015. Three years ago, I graduated from The University Of The West Indies, St. Augustine Trinidad with a First Degree in Accounting and moved back home to Tobago to begin my job searching escapades. Fast Forward to 2018, three jobs, three boyfriends and about three+ life lessons later; I’m once again an unemployed student; job searching.
To the Seeing Eye and the Surface Scraper, it may seem as if I’m in the same place; one of none-to-little progress and mundane living. My soul has, however, done a lot of growing up since 2015. It’s safe to say that life thus, has been an awesome roller coaster ride! Well... maybe not so awesome at times. Well... maybe most of the time. Sighsss.
If you know me, you’ll know that I thrive on inspiration and that my blogging is fueled by my life experiences. I’ve neglected to blog because I’ve chosen to not cherish the blessings in mapping the journey - in fear of not seeing actual development. But anyone that knows anything knows that sometimes we fail to see the growth that can occur outside of the tangible measurable milestones that society has placed on our shoulders.

“Travel the World, marry, build forever-home, buy a car, have two kids with a stable career by 30” has been the Dream Model for generations. Many have based their lives on accomplishing the Dream Model and claiming life a success if it is achieved. However life has often taken a disappointing turn, and the Dream Modeler goes from tracking milestones to dragging millstones. A heavy thing it is when our pursuits are not from a place of purpose.
I believe that every encounter, every situation, every experience good, bad and ugly has afforded me opportunities for growth, development and purpose alignment. It sometimes takes retrospective analysis to unearth the gems that shine light on God’s specific purpose for one’s life. I also believe that success is in the journey and not in any one destination. I’m here, I’m present, and I’m inspired. Join me, be my accountability partner, as I share gems from the last few years and also continue to map my journey. I have faith that everything is going to be alright, as long as I follow God's leading.
Since I have naturally kinky-curly hair, I decided to try two products from the Worlds of Curls brand to see how they'll work for me. I purchased both the Curl Activator and the Curly Pudding. These type of products are known to either define curls or stretch them out but after reading many product reviews, I've come to realize that the outcomes are different from person to person given the different hair types, techniques of use and styling. Let's Start with the Curl Activator! Worlds of Curls Curl Activator This products claims to be 3 steps in one; Curl Activator, Conditioner and Oil Sheen. It advertises that it's for extra dry hair. I've had this product for more than a year. I purchased a 32oz container, deciding that I'd try all the possible ways to use this product. On the back of the container, it says: Worlds of Curls Curl Activator (for extra dry hair) is another key step in Our Total Hair Care Maintenance System. Worlds of Curls Acti...
Pond's Clarant B3: Normal To Oily Skin For many years I have sworn by this face product. I have been using it to moisturize my face during both the day and the night. It does exactly what it promises. The packaging states that it is a "Dark Spot Correcting Moisturizer". It has indeed, cleared up any marks that was left by untimely blackheads. It also states that it "Evens Skin Tone in 2 Weeks and "Reduces the appearance of Dark Spots In 4 Weeks". These statements are also true for me. Some people may be worried that skin bleaching/whitening may occur, this is not likely at all. It is Dermatologist Tested, Hypoallergenic and it Won't Clog Pores. I would recommend that you try a small bottle to determine how much you like it (if it works for you). Here's a pic: I do as the bottle says an apply it to my entire face and neck. I also apply it as a base for any makeup that I may wear. It is lightweight and does not leave my face stic...
We have so much to be thankful for! Yes, "WE". You do, and I do! If you are alive and reading this, God has blessed you in a mighty way. Your being alive is a testimony to His power to protect, provide and keep His promises. It also means that He has given you additional time to live out His purpose in your life. All this is up to you because He has blessed you with the wonderful gift of choice. It's up to you to choose love over hate, to choose positivism over negativity and to choose faith over fear. It's really not an easy road. While we are choosing, we have the enemy to contend with. It's important that we remember that we can't overcome his obstacles alone. God is with us every step of the way, with stretched out hands. Every decision for Him is an acceptance of His hand. The enemy's job is to drive a wedge between us and God and he's had years of studying us, under his belt. To keep the connection between us and God tight, we have to be devot...
